The benchmarks depend mostly on duration and intensity. On a 1 to 2 hour ride, 30 to 60 g/h is often enough. Beyond 2 to 3 hours at a sustained intensity, 60 to 90 g/h becomes worthwhile, and cyclists well trained for intake can target 90 to 120 g/h on long events.
